Espuguettes refuge (Gavarnie)

The Pyrenees National Park is neither an amusement park nor a zoo nor an animal reserve.
There are no permanent inhabitants in the central zone:
(45 707 hectares) therefore you will not find any restaurants or any 4 star hotels...But you will be able to have your picnic (leaving the place spotless), book a night in a refuge or bivouac.

Camping is forbidden (tents up for several days) but bivouac is allowed (tents up at night only) if you are at least one hour's walk from any road access. Some sites are equipped with bivouac areas like the Néouvielle Nature Reserve, and near certain refuges.

You can choose accommodation adapted to the short stay : www.gites-refuges

On the other hand, you can if you wish stay a few days in the valleys, don't hesitate to contact the different Tourist Offices. They will suggest several types of accommodation (hotels, rented accommodation, Panda gîtes, , rural gîtes, B&B, campsites, etc.) in the peripheral area villages.
